With 18 years of experience as a stylist, I have honed my craft and built a thriving business. Prior to opening Copper Penny Beauty Boutique, I ran a successful home-based salon for 10 years while also pursuing my Technical Vocational Teaching Certificate for Hairstyling. During the early stages of the pandemic, I completed my student teaching placement in the same classroom where I had once been a student. However, I soon realized that my true passion was in running a salon rather than teaching in a structured classroom environment. And so, Copper Penny Beauty Boutique was born.
One of the key reasons for the salon’s success is the exceptional team that I have built. From the very beginning, I knew that Alisa was the right sty list to join me on this journey. Our friendship of more than 10 years has been a valuable asset to the business. Since opening our doors on the first day after the third lockdown lifted, we have been unstoppable. As demand for our services has grown, we have expanded our team organically to meet the needs of our customers. And now, I am thrilled to announce that we are doubling the square footage of our salon and spa this spring/summer!
On a personal note, I am lucky to have a supportive partner, Niko, who is also driven in his own career. Together, we live in Selkirk with our two dogs (Toby and Diesel) and two cats (Winston and Banjo). Although we love the outdoors and traveling to warm destinations, our priority is always providing exceptional service to our clients at Copper Penny Beauty Boutique.
